Monitoring Multiple SAP R/3 Systems
Use
The
Alert Monitor usually monitors the SAP R/3 System in which you start it.You can, however, monitor multiple SAP R/3 Systems with a single alert monitor. To do this, make an SAP R/3 System your central monitoring system. You then only need to add your other SAP R/3 systems to the alert monitor in your central monitoring system.
You can monitor as many SAP R/3 Systems as you want from one single system. Technical factors such as the speed of, and traffic in, your network restrict the number of systems that can be monitored. On the basis of experience, however, practical restrictions of this nature are only relevant when monitoring over a hundred SAP R/3 Systems.
Prerequisites
You can only monitor a remote system if you have defined RFC destinations for every SAP R/3 System that you want to monitor remotely. A remote SAP R/3 System is every SAP R/3 System to which you are not logged on.
Procedure
Monitoring an Additional SAP R/3 System
Target System ID is the identifier of the SAP R/3 System that is to be monitored, such as C11, R3P.
RFC Destination of a Target System for Data Coll. and for execution of analysis method are the names of the RFC connections to the remote SAP R/3 System. To display a list of the defined connections, choose Goto ® RFC Connections. See
