Definition

Number that has been assigned by an authority or whose assignment is regulated by authorities or laws.

Use

Various authority-assigned numbers must be output on waste approvals and disposal documents. In Waste Management, you can therefore specify authority-assigned numbers for the following objects:

Structure

For the numbers for waste management business partners and for disposal documents, a distinction is made between numbers assigned by regional and transregional authorities and numbers whose assignment is regulated by the corresponding regional and transregional authorities or laws. These numbers are accordingly described as regional or transregional authority-assigned numbers. The transregional authority-assigned number is generally the number assigned by a federal authority or whose assignment is regulated by this authority or by a federal law.

Example

In the USA, federal authorities and authorities in individual federal states (Texas, for example) assign authority-assigned numbers. In Waste Management, the number assigned by the federal authority corresponds to the transregional authority-assigned number, and the number assigned by the authority in the federal state corresponds to the regional authority-assigned number.

For each authority-assigned number for a waste management business partner, you can therefore specify the validity area and thus specify the region in which the authority-assigned number is legally valid.

Integration

The system uses the validity area to automatically determine, from all the authority-assigned numbers for a waste management business partner, the regional and transregional authority-assigned numbers that must be output on waste approvals and disposal documents. For more information, see Specify Validity Areas in Customizing for Waste Management.
