Inspection Characteristics

Field

Explanations

Valid from

This field is filled with the key date you specified when you Created the Inspection Plan.

Change number

This field is filled with the change number you may have specified when you Created the Inspection Plan.

Master inspection characteristic (version no.)

If you specified a master inspection characteristic in the Mapping Table, the corresponding content is transferred.

The version is always the version valid at the time the inspection plan was created.

Short text for inspection characteristic

The following different cases can be distinguished when transferring a short text:

  • If an inspection characteristic is created with reference to a master inspection characteristic that already has a short text, this short text is transferred.
  • If an inspection characteristic is created without reference to a master inspection characteristic, the description of the value assignment type is transferred in the language specified in the environment parameter EHQMEP_LANGU (see Basic Settings).
  • If a number of inspection characteristics are created from one value assignment type, the short text is made up of both the description of the value assignment type and the description of the characteristic value (20 of the 40 characters are available for each part of the short text).
  • If a number of inspection characteristics are created from a composition, the short text of the master inspection characteristic is transferred if a reference to a master inspection characteristic exists. If no reference to a master inspection characteristic exists, an identifier from the specification is transferred as the short text. The identifier is determined by the system using the priorities specified in Customizing for Product Safety under Specification Management ® Specification Master ® Check Identification Listing for D_VALPOS.

If you also want the long text for phrases to be transferred as the long text for the inspection characteristic, you must implement the customer exit EHQM0903 Add long text data to inspection characteristics.

Inspection method (with plant and version)

If you specified Inspection method as the type of characteristic during characteristic assignment in the Mapping Table, the corresponding content of the class characteristic is transferred.

The version is always the version valid at the time the inspection plan was created.

Unit of measure

The unit of measure is transferred that is specified in the definition of the class characteristic.

Decimal places

You specify the number of decimal places in this field. The number of decimal places is not taken from the definition of the class characteristic, but derived from the entry for the characteristic in the value assignment type. If you specify several values with different numbers of decimal places, the greatest number of decimal places is always relevant for this field.

Target value

If you specified Target value as the type of characteristic during characteristic assignment in the Mapping Table, the corresponding content of the class characteristic is transferred.

Note

The system does not distinguish between "less than" and "less than or equal to," or "greater than" and "greater than or equal to" when it converts the values from the specification database, but always interprets the data as "less than or equal to" or "greater than or equal to."

Upper limit

If you specified Value range as the type of characteristic during characteristic assignment in the Mapping Table, this field is filled with the upper limit of the value range (see Note under Target value).

Lower spec. limit

If you specified Value range as the type of characteristic during characteristic assignment in the Mapping Table, this field is filled with the lower limit of the value range (see Note under Target value).

InfoField 3

If you specified Additional information as the type of characteristic during characteristic assignment in the Mapping Table, the corresponding content of the class characteristic is transferred.

You can also fill other infofields using the customer exit EHQM0902 Add data to inspection characteristics, for example.

Selected set 1 with plant

When phrases are converted to codes (see Processing of Characteristics) a selected set is created provided the codes are not available in any existing selected sets.

This field is filled if you specified Attributive entry as the type of characteristic during characteristic assignment in the Mapping Table.

Note

If you want to transfer other contents to the fields, you must implement this using the available customer exits (see Customer Exits for the interface).
