Use

This procedure describes how you create and change a specification for a waste and how you assign materials and waste codes to this specification if required.

In the specifications, you can store the following data, for example:

In the specification, you can store, among other things, the data that you need for a characterization analysis.

Prerequisites

You have created the materials and waste codes that you want to assign to the specifications.

Procedure

  1. In the Waste Management menu, choose Master data ® Waste master ® Specification ® Specifications ® Edit specifications.

The Edit Specification: Initial Screen appears. The specification category Substance is preset.

Creating Specifications

  1. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Create Specification: Header screen appears.

  1. Enter data as required on the Specification header tab page. If you have specified your own Structure link specification type for wastes in the IMG activity Specify Specification Types in Customizing for Product Safety, select this specification type.
  2. Choose the Identifiers tab page and enter data as required. You can specify waste descriptions in various languages, for example, as identifiers.
  3. Choose the Material assignments tab page and specify the materials that you want to assign to the specification. You can find the cases in which you should assign materials to the specifications in this way under Specification-to-Waste Assignment.
  4. If required, enter additional data on the other tab pages, for example references, status data, or inheritance relationships. For more information about these and other possible entries, see the corresponding sections in Structure link Specification Management.
  5. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
  6. The Edit Specification: Property Tree screen appears.

  7. Choose the value assignment types by double-clicking the ones for which you want to enter data, and enter this data. In the value assignment type Waste codes that is delivered in the standard system, you can assign waste codes to the specification as follows:
    1. In the Waste catalog characteristic, enter the waste catalog to which the waste code belongs and confirm your entry.
    2. In the Waste code characteristic, enter the waste codes from the waste catalog that you want to assign to the specification.

  1. Save your entries.

Changing Specifications

  1. Enter your search criteria and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. For more information about searching for specifications, see Structure link Specification Search.

The Edit Specification: Hit List screen appears.

  1. Select the specification that you want to edit.
  2. Proceed as follows if you want to change the header data in the specification:
    1. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
    2. Choose the tab page on which you want to change data, and enter data as required. For information about which data you can enter on individual tab pages, see the section Creating Specifications.
  1. Proceed as follows if you want to change value assignments of the value assignment types for the waste:
    1. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
    2. Choose the value assignment types by double-clicking the ones for which you want to enter data, and enter this data. In the value assignment type Waste codes that is delivered in the standard system, you can assign waste codes to the specification as follows:
      1. In the Waste catalog characteristic, enter the waste catalog to which the waste code belongs and confirm your entry.
      2. In the Waste code characteristic, enter the waste codes that you want to assign to the specification.
