Waste Code 

Definition

Number or code that is assigned to a waste in a legally defined waste catalog or a waste catalog within a company.

Each waste code is created as a specification in specification management in Product Safety. In the specification, you can store the following data on the waste code, for example:

• Waste code
• Description of the waste code
• Waste catalog to which the waste code belongs
• Various properties of the waste code, for example the hazardousness, that generally apply to wastes of this waste code

You can assign the waste codes to the wastes, waste approvals, and disposal documents in various ways (see Waste Code Assignment) and thus establish standard values from laws and regulations.
