Creating Query Steps

Prerequisites

You have displayed the Edit Query: Step Overview dialog box. For more information about how to get to this screen and for other prerequisites, see Creating and Editing Queries.

Procedure

Position the cursor on one of the following:

If you want to insert the query step at a specific position within the query, position the cursor on the query step after the required position in the query.
If you want to insert the query step as the last step in the query or if the query does not yet contain any query steps, position the cursor on the root of the tree structure.

Choose

The Query: Create (Query Step) dialog box appears.

Enter data as required and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

The Edit Query: Step Overview dialog box is displayed.

Choose the new query step by double-clicking.

The Query Step: Edit Search Parameters dialog box appears.

Enter search criteria (see Searching Manually for Specifications) or load a set of hits (see Loading Sets of Hits) and choose .

Save the query.
