Procedure

To install SAPforms, run the SAPSETUP.EXE program from the SAP Presentation CD. Choose the SAPforms component.

Caution

SAPforms will only run on a Windows 32-bit platform!

The setup program will then lead you through the installation process, which consists of the following components.

  1. The ActiveX components are installed and registered in the subdirectory Sapforms\Bin.
  2. Some shared components are installed in the Windows system directory.
  3. The examples referred to in this documentation are installed in the SAPforms\Samples directory.
  4. Files are installed in further subdirectories of the SAPforms directory that contain the source code of some of the SAPforms components.

Once you have installed SAPforms, you should start with the introductory example Getting Started.

Result

Execute the following tests to make sure that the installation procedure was performed successfully:

Testing installed OCX components

Execute the TestOCX1.EXE program in the SAPforms\Samples directory. The SAP components WDTTREE.OCX and WDTVOCX.OCX are checked.

Test Remote Communication with the SAP System

Execute the TestOCX2.EXE program in the SAPforms\Samples directory. The SAP components WDTLOG.OCX and WDTFUNC.OCX are checked. You can only execute this test if you have access to an SAP System.

Choose R3Logon and log on to an available system. Then choose Call Function Module to run a test RFC.

SAPforms Designer Test

Execute the WDFDES.EXE program in the SAPforms\Bin directory. If a test is successful, the binding dialog screen of the SAPforms Designer is displayed.

The WDFDES.EXE program is the stand-alone version of the SAPforms Designer and has its own desktop icon (sapfff.ico).
