Use
Before it is able to create a new query, the system needs information that enables it to generate the corresponding report. The following information is required:
Prerequisites
You are in the initial screen of the Queries component.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to use the Query Painter to create a basic list:
Query names are a maximum of 14 characters in length. The name of the query must be unique, that is there must not be a query with this name in the user group already.
A list of InfoSets belonging to the user group is displayed.
You are taken to the Create Query: Title, Format screen.
To find out how to create InfoSets, see
If there are a lot of InfoSets with many fields assigned to one user group, use the search function to find the InfoSet you need. You can search for any term within the selected InfoSets. The result is a list of all the InfoSets and fields that match the search criterion.
The Settings dialog box closes.
Alternatively, choose Next Screen , and choose the fields that you want to use to build your query before you start the Query Painter. This procedure is useful if you want to define local fields.
Defining local fields allows you to generate new information from the fields in an InfoSet, without having to include an additional field.
