Work Approval

Definition

WCM object for controlling communication between maintenance orders and applications. In the work approval, measures are requested to ensure a safe environment for work at a technical system. As a higher-level WCM object, the work approval can combine the work clearance application with other additional applications, for example, boiler inspection certificate, permit for working with radioactive materials, permit for working with open flames, and so on.

Use

The work approval is only used in the enhanced model of Work Clearance Management and represents the central safety certificate. Maintenance personnel request work approvals, for example, from those responsible for work safety or radiation protection.

On the one hand, work approvals are assigned to orders where they control the system status "Released for execution"; on the other hand, work approvals are assigned to applications that they control and monitor.

Note

Note the following assignment rules:

A work approval can be assigned to several orders. However, an order can only ever be assigned to one work approval. (assignment rule R3)

An application can be assigned to several work approvals, and vice versa. (Assignment rule R4)
A work approval can only be assigned to one application of an application type. For example, it is not possible for several work clearance applications to be assigned to one work approval. (Assignment rule R5)
