Quantity Addition and Subtraction
Use
Quantity addition and subtraction is a method of rounding off quantities. It works in a similar way to static rounding in that quantities are rounded off independently of units of measure. It is used for rounding off quantities of additionals, but can also be used in other applications.
Prerequisites
You must define a rounding profile in Customizing. For further information, see
Master Data and Customizing for Quantity Optimizing.Features
You can maintain the percentages you want to add or subtract in an addition/subtraction profile for various threshold values (quantities).
If a quantity is entered that is the same or greater than the threshold value, the system either adds or subtracts the specific percentage and thus rounds off the quantity.
Example
You need to order 100 suits. The article Suit has 2 additionals assigned to it - Ticket and Hanger. When they have been delivered, you want the two additionals to be attached to the suit. To account for wastage or wrong use, you need 15% more tickets and 10% more hangers than suits.
To make sure that all 100 suits have tickets and hangers, you want the system to include the extra quantities required in the purchase order. It does this by using the percentages that have to be added on.
The system can determine the percentages from additional/subtraction profiles as long as you have created the following two rounding profiles and assigned them to the additionals.
The system automatically suggests that you order the quantity of additionals that results from adding on the percentage valid for the threshold value.
