Definition

By defining architectural object categories, you define the different architectural levels you wish to have in the system and their relationship to each other. First you decide which object category you wish to create, change or display in the Process Architectural Object dialog.

You define architectural object categories in Customizing. The following groupings are recommended:

NoteThe same attributes exist in the architectural view as in the usage view, which enables assignments between the two views if required. For this reason the master data of the usage view Business Entity, Building and Property has to be assigned to the corresponding architectural object types, for instance a business entity is generally assigned to a locality.

You make these assignments in Customizing. Choose the following task level menu:

Customizing ® Flexible Real Estate ® Master Data ® Architectural View ® Architectural Object Type ® Process Architectural Object Types

Use

An architectural object consists of characteristics typical of that hierarchical level. Architectural objects and their attributes are not used directly in business processes.

You can assign an architectural object any kind of function. These functions are defined in Customizing. Choose the following task level menu:

Customizing ® Flexible Real Estate ® Master Data ® Architectural View ® Architectural Object Type ® Specify Function of Architectural Object

ExampleExample:

Architectural object Space – Function Office

Integration

NoteThe assignment of an architectural object to the usage view is time-dependent. You can link one architectural object to multiple usage objects if these objects belong to different company codes.
