You use the plant organizational unit to map the organizational structure of an enterprise to organizational units in the R/3 System. The plants you define may correspond to the physical plants in the enterprise, but they do not have to:

• You can use several R/3 plants to represent one physical location
• You can use one logical (R/3) plant to represent several physical locations.
