Message Control Connection to the Application 

Purpose

In the course of a new development you can integrate Message Control in an application.

New developments in customer systems display a modification which is not protected when there is a release upgrade! There are however applications which already use Message Control and allow upwards compatible customer enhancements. Also see section " The communication structure ".

Prerequisites

You have R/3 developer authorization.

Process flow

  1. Clarify the requirements for applications.
  2. Consider if you want to extend field catalog. You should only really do this if the fields already available for the condition access do not suffice.
  3. Define your communication structure.
  4. Program the function calls at the appropriate point in the application program. Also note the section function group of the Message Control.
  5. Insert functions for Customizing the Message Control in the R/3 IMG structure for your application.
