Message Control can only be called via the Application Programming Interface (API), function group V61B.

The API eliminates the need to enter table definitions for the messages in the calling application. If, however, the message data is required in the calling application, a function module can be used to read and return the data.

The API is called for the following functions:

• Message determination
• Editing the message proposal
• Message processing

If necessary, other function modules or dialog modules can be called from the function group.
