Transferring Formatted Inspection Characteristics to a Certificate

Use

As of Release 4.6C, you can transmit a quality certificate with its formatted data electronically and automatically transfer the inspection results from the certificate to an inspection lot. In addition to transmitting an electronic certificate for a delivery, you can also transmit a certificate for a batch or inspection lot. In this way, the exchange of quality data is not tied to a purchase order or delivery, and it makes it easier to manage the external inspection results in your own system.

As with certificate printouts, you can also flexibly control the data in an electronic certificate in the certificate profile and certificate form.

On the receiving end, the data can be transferred to an inspection lot for a goods receipt automatically, or manually to any other inspection lot. In this way, for example, you can also transfer the data to a source inspection lot before the goods receipt occurs, allowing you to make a decision at an early stage.

On the basis of the results data origin specified in the inspection plan or material specification for each characteristic, the system determines whether the data will be transferred from the electronic certificate or whether the goods must be physically inspected.

If the sending and receiving parties use different characteristic descriptions, the system makes sure that all characteristics are properly identified and assigned during the results transfer (on the basis of a partner-specific characteristic mapping or conversion scheme).

The interface can also be used to exchange data with business partners who do not have an SAP System.

Effects on Customizing

You specify the technical transmission path when you maintain the IDoc ports.

For IDoc processing, you must also

maintain the IDoc partners.

A "Source" field has been added to the screen for maintaining the results data origin . In this field, you can specify that the results are to be transferred from the electronic certificate.
