Supplements

Use

If the available funds are not sufficient, you can top up the budget in a funds center or commitment item by means of a supplement.

Features

There are two forms of supplement:

Here, you distribute the supplement within the funds center and commitment item hierarchy from superior funds centers and commitment items to subordinate ones. The budget supplement must not exceed the amount in the superior level. The amount of supplement depends on the distributable value and assigned value in the superior level.

In such cases, you are allocating additional budget from outside to a particular combination of funds centers and commitment items, regardless of how much budget is still available for the superior funds centers and commitment items. The distributable value for this combination increases by the amount of the supplement.

You can pass the additional budget on to funds centers and commitment items higher up in the hierarchy by choosing Total up and Roll up. The distributable value in the superior levels is not affected by the change; the distributed value and any existing supplement are increased by the amount of this supplement.

All the budget entry functions are available for you to enter, change, and display returns. For more information, read Budget Entry Aids .

Activities

The procedure for entering returns is similar to that for allocating original budget or rolling up budget values. For more information on the procedure, refer to Allocating Budget and Rolling Up Budget Values
