Creating Commitment Item Groups

  1. In the initial SAP R/3 screen choose Accounting ® Financial accounting ® Funds management ® Master data ® Budget structure ® Commitment item group ® Create and make the require entries.

Enter an FM area, commitment item group, and fiscal year.

Enter an FM area and a commitment item group.

You can limit selection to a commitment item subhierarchy by entering a commitment item.

You can specify a commitment item group as a template. The system then automatically takes over all commitment items from this group with the corresponding object indicators into the new group.

Choose Continue.

  1. Enter a name and a description for the group in the dialog box and choose Continue.

You reach an overview of the commitment item hierarchy in accordance with the entry point you have chosen.

  1. Select the commitment items that you want to combine into a group and choose Insert into group.

Using Remove from group you can remove the commitment items selected from the group.

  1. Choose Object indicator.

You reach an overview of the object indicators.

  1. Set the Budget object and/or Posting object indicators for the commitment items contained in the group.

To set an indicator for all commitment items displayed, choose Select column.

To delete an indicator for all commitment items displayed, choose Deselect column.

  1. Save the commitment item group.

Changing Commitment Item Groups

To change commitment item groups, choose Accounting ® Financial accounting ® Funds management ® Master data ® Budget structure ® Commitment item group ® Change in the initial SAP R/3 screen.

To change commitment item groups, proceed as described in creating commitment item groups.

If you are already working with a budget structure which was defined using group assignment and make subsequent changes to the object function (budget object/posting object) in a commitment item group, this has an effect on all the funds centers to which you have assigned this group in the budget structure.

For the change to take effect in the budget structure, you must Generate the Budget Structure from Group Assignments.

Displaying Commitment Item Groups

  1. In the Funds Management menu, choose Master data ® Budget structure ® Commitment item group ® Display.
  2. Enter data as required and choose Continue.
