Changing the Planning Settings

Use

Using this function, you can change the processing profile and the planning period in the plant-dependent planning profile from Sequencing. The planning period is the period in which the system determines the sequence of the planned orders.

Integration

The system uses the planning settings from the planning profile defined in Customizing for Sequencing. Here, you define a planning profile for each plant. If you define several planning profiles for a plant, the system always uses the first planning profile listed for the plant in question.

Features

Planning process in the processing profile

The system uses the planning process to determine the sequence of the planned orders. You can choose from the following processes:

Manual dispatching
A first-in-first-out process where the planned orders are sorted according to their numbers.
An external optimization process or model-mix process which you access via an interface (POI).
A user-defined process which you access via a user exit.

Planning period in the planning profile

You can define that the planning period is to be either a shift, a day or several days. In Sequencing, the system first determines all the planned orders whose order start dates lie in the planning period. Then it determines the order sequence according to the process you chose (such as the FIFO process).

Activities

You can change the planning settings in the sequence schedule by choosing Settings ® Planning.
