The command field is a special input field in the R/3 System in which the user can enter typed commands, usually a fast path (see Access Characters) or transaction codes.

The command field is located in the standard toolbar to the right of the ENTER pushbutton.

The command field is an input field allowing up to 10 characters which is implemented as a drop-down list. This list, called command list , contains the last 20 user commands. The user can choose an entry from this list as the current command. The list contains the commands entered in all open sessions.
