Definition and Use
"SAP matrix" in this context means a table structure ready for input containing fields, lines and columns as selectable objects. The user can select as many lines, columns and fields as desired.
Appearance
Until further notice, an SAP matrix is displayed as a table structure with multiple selection (see
Selection Tables and Lists).Selection Methods
Fields
:explicit selection and deselection (see above). The selected field can then be processed (that is, edited) with any function.
Lines:
as with multiple selection (see above). The cursor, however, has to be positioned on the checkbox in front of the lines.
Columns:
an entire column is selected and deselected by explicitly selecting and deselecting the column header (see above).
Checkboxes can select lines or fields, depending on the layout.
Planned Enhancement
The checkboxes in front of the lines and the headers will become pushbuttons, as in spreadsheets. The selection of several lines occurs sequentially by means of "
Select block " or by dragging with the mouse. Several columns or fields may be selectable in the same way. The task developer must define the valid selection possibilities in the matrix in accordance with the user's needs.
