SAPDBA: Backup Offline Redo Logs: Special Options 

In the submenu Special options you can choose other functions for archiving the offline redo log files:

– no: Some of the confirmation messages of BRBACKUP are suppressed (default) (see -c|-confirm).

– yes: All the confirmation messages are displayed.

– no: No compression (default).

– yes: Software compression.

– hardware: Set this option if your tape device can perform hardware compression.

– no: No verification (default).

– yes: Verification. You can use this function to check the readability and the completeness of the backup of the offline redo log files (see -w|-verify).

– no: You cannot enter the password interactively (default).

– yes: You must enter the password interactively. In this case, the password does not appear in the process list, nor is it visible on the screen when entered.

– no: Backup of the offline redo log files using BRARCHIVE.

– yes: After the offline redo log files have been backed up with BRARCHIVE, a database backup is made with BRBACKUP. Use the menu option Configure database backup to make other settings for the database backup, (see SAPDBA: Backup Database). Any options that do not need to be set are hidden (for example, Backup device type, Backup volume(s), and so on).

– no: If you do not have a standby database, or if you do not want to import the redo log files into the standby database (default).

– <n>: BRARCHIVE waits for this period of time (minutes) before it imports the redo log files into the standby database (see -m|-modify).

– English: BRARCHIVE messages appear in English (default).

– Deutsch: BRARCHIVE messages appear in German.
