Unions

Definition

In some cases, the employee must pay a contribution or dues to the union with which they are affiliated.

This payment should be made automatically through the company, which deducts the appropriate contribution amount from the employee. That is, the employer acts as a deduction agent for union dues.

In the majority of cases, union dues are defined as a percentage of the employee’s total pay. This percentage may vary according to the union. The compensation base against which this percentage is applied may differ according to the specific circumstances of each company.

Alternatively, this amount is represented by a set amount that is paid according to an established timetable (for example, once a month).
