Define Signature Strategies

In this IMG activity, you define strategies. You make the following settings:

You combine the individual signatures of different user groups into a signature process.

You specify which

signature method is used when the signature process is executed.

In the overall profile, you later assign the signature strategies to the materials for whose batch records you want to use them.

If you use only one signature to approve batch records in your company, you need not define a signature strategy.

Recommendation

If you use the user signature with an external security product as the signature method, you always work with signature verification in the live system. If you use signatures without verification, the validity of the user certificate is not checked. For this reason, we recommend using this signature method for test purposes only.

To create a signature strategy, proceed as follows:

1. Choose New entries and enter a key, description, and signature method for the signature strategy.

Signature strategies are valid in all areas that use the digital signature. Before changing signature strategies or using them for your requirements, make sure that there is no clash of interests with other areas.
