The SAP Session Manager and SAP Business Workflow reference activity profiles to determine:
Previously activity profiles were maintained using the Job Generator tool. This tool required you to group individual activities together into activity profiles, according to the type of job held by an R/3 user.
The Job Generator has been replaced with a new transaction, Activity Group Maintenance. This transaction allows you to assign activities to "activity groups", according to whatever criteria you see fit. You can then assign the activity groups to various R/3 objects -- R/3 users, positions, jobs and organizational units. An object's activity profile then consists of the assigned activity groups.
The Job Generator also served as a tool to create jobs in the Organizational Management transaction, Simple Maintenance (PPOM). It is still possible to create jobs in Simple Maintenance, using a different menu option.
None required. Activity profiles and jobs developed with the Job Generator are still valid. All relationship infotype records between tasks and jobs are still valid. However, you must use the new transaction to further develop activity profiles.
You can call the Activity Group Maintenance transaction directly, using the same transaction code as for the Job Generator, PFCG.
