Multiple Valuation Views in Planning

Use

You can store data in Profitability Analysis in two separate valuation views in addition to two separate currencies. This feature is designed for organizations that

Treat profit centers like independent companies acting on the market, and therefore want to analyze both external sales and internal sales, such as goods transfers between profit centers, in their profit analyses
Update both internal and external sales using costs of goods manufactured calculated on the basis of transfer prices

Features

In planning, you need to decide for each plan version what combination of valuation approach and currency type you want to plan. You can choose between the following combinations:

If you have activated profit center valuation for your operating concern, you need to specify the valuation approach for the characteristic Currency type (field PALEDGER).

Valuation Approach in the Planning Layout

Although SAP recommends that you generate the planning layout from the parameter set (see Set Up Manual Entry of Planning Data), you can also create the layout manually in Customizing under Planning ® Manual Entry of Planning Data ® Define Planning Layout. If you choose to do so, you have to make some settings for the valuation approach during layout definition. You should refer to the Customizing section Define Planning Layout.
