Restarting the Export/Import

This section describes the menu item Restart export/import of the export/import menu.

If an error occurred during the export or import, an error message will be displayed. If an error occurred during the first phase of the export/import (script creation), the export must be repeated (a restart is not possible). The restart option only relates to the processing of created scripts (i.e. when an error occurs during the second or third phase).You can then use the restart option to continue a terminated export or import.

To do this, proceed as follows:

Examine the logs, see Preparing for the Restart.

Use the SAPDBA menu Restart export/import to execute the Restart. Proceed as described in Restart Procedure (for the restart of an organization).

The restart function can also be used in situations other than errors. You can also use it to postpone the start time of the export until you have created the scripts.
