Preparing for the Restart

In the SAPDBA menu, select Show/Cleanup ® Show log files/profiles ® SAPDBA log files. Select the log written during the operation that failed, and examine the process flow and (possibly) the cause of the error.

Name of log: <timestamp>.<ext>
The timestamp and function ID help you to find the right log. The timestamp indicates when the corresponding process was started.

With the default settings, SAPDBA saves these logs in <ORACLE_HOME>/sapreorg . This directory also contains the subdirectory <timestamp> , where SAPDBA places the scripts required for the process and the restart file.

See Restart File for Reorganizations, Overview of Script Types.

Always make sure you have the right log and the right restart file before you restart a reorganization.
