Import Options for Tables with Data

Procedure

  1. Select the SAPDBA import option for tables with data (Import tables and indexes including data).
  2. The following menu options appear:

a

- Working directory

b

- Import subdirectory

p

- Show import plan

s

- Start

t

- Start in batch

q

- Return

SAPDBA displays the Working directory and a default value for the subdirectory <timestamp> that contains the import scripts (Import subdirectory). This information is based on the last export performed. Compare this information with that in the appropriate export log <timestamp>.exd. Before you start the import, check the import plan (Show import plan). If the SAPDBA default directories do not conform to your wishes, you can change the Working directory and Import subdirectory.

  1. Select Start to start the import (or Start in batch to execute the process in the background).

Result

The tables, table indexes and all constraints and grants are imported with the Oracle program import (or SAP load with special SQL scripts) and the import log <timestamp>.imd is created

If an error occurs, you can repeat the process with the restart function (see Restarting the Export/Import).

You cannot set any parameters/options with the SAPDBA menu during the import. The settings which were made before the export and stored in the scripts are used
