To simplify the administration of the ORACLE database system, SAP provides the SAPDBA tool.

SAPDBA provides database management functions that you mostly cannot perform from within the R/3 System. SAPDBA runs outside the R/3 System, on the operating system of the database host.

If you administer your ORACLE database with the SAPDBA utility, all actions are logged. This means that you can check at any time which operations have been performed.
