Changing the Hierarchy in the WBS Element Overview 
Use
Generally speaking, you enter the desired project hierarchy level directly when you create the WBS element. However, you can also change hierarchy levels of WBS elements afterwards.

Select a WBS element and choose one of the functions listed in the table below. The functions also affect the WBS elements subordinate to the one selected.

If you are working in a subtree, the top WBS element cannot be moved down a level. |
Move WBS element up a level |

If you are working in a subtree, the top WBS element cannot be moved up a level. |
Move the WBS element to another position. |
Edit ® Object ® Move |
Position the cursor on the WBS element in front of which you want to insert the WBS element. You cannot insert a moved WBS element below WBS elements that are subordinate to it. If you are working in a subtree, the top WBS element cannot be moved. |
Detach WBS element from project hierarchy and insert it at level 1. |
Edit ® Object ® Cut |
If you are working with a subtree, it is not generally possible to detach WBS elements. |
