Message Evaluation Using SAP XXL List Viewer

The SAP XXL list viewer is a tool which configurates Microsoft Excel for the display and further processing of data from R/3 applications. It has the following functions:

presenting the R/3 data in Excel according to a data structure defined in R/3

providing special functions in addition to the Excel standard functionality

restricting the Excel functionality in order to ensure the consistency of the data exported from the R/3 System

Within process message evaluation, you can use the SAP XXL list viewer to analyze process messages that have been sent to the process message record. All characteristics that are currently released for use in process messages can be taken into account in an evaluation.

Within the process message evaluation function, you define

which messages and which message data should be displayed via the XXL list viewer

a layout which specifies how the data should be presented within the list viewer

The result of your evaluation can be

displayed and processed in the SAP XXL list viewer

downloaded to and processed within Excel

downloaded to your PC in ASCII format for further processing via other evaluation tools

transferred to the SAPoffice mail system from where it can be displayed within Excel

Changes to the data which you make within the list viewer cannot be uploaded to R/3.
