Time Interval

The time interval determines the chronological interval between two activities that are linked by a relationship.

The activity "assembly" is linked to an activity "production" through an FS relationship with a time interval of two days. Assembly starts at the earliest two days after the activity "production" has finished.

You can define the time interval in the Project System in several ways:

Positive or Negative Time Interval

You can maintain the time interval with positive or negative values.

The time interval between an activity "assembly" and an activity "production" is minus 10 days. The activities are linked to each other by an FS relationship. The activity "assembly" starts 10 days before the activity "production" is finished.

Absolute or Percentage Time Interval

You can determine the time interval with absolute or percentage values:

Example: Percentage Time Interval

If you enter a percent for the time interval, you must specify whether it is a percentage of the preceding activity or succeeding activity’s duration.
