You can use checks to ensure that lockout/tagout can be processed safely and free of conflict. Some checks may be optional, others are obligatory. You can deactivate optional checks in Customizing.

Checks made include whether:

• An authorization is available
• Tagging/untagging is blocked by an approval

• Reference object
• Time frame
• Completeness and correctness
• Test cycle
• Untagging
• Conflict
