In the work approval, measures are requested to ensure a safe environment for work at a technical system. As a higher-level work clearance management object, the work approval can combine the work clearance application with other additional applications, for example, boiler inspection certificate, permit for working with radioactive materials, permit for working with open flames, and so on.

The work approval is only used in the enhanced model of work clearance management and represents the central safety certificate. Maintenance personnel request work approvals, for example, from those responsible for work safety or radiation protection.

On the one hand, work approvals are assigned to orders where they control the system status "Released for execution"; on the other hand, work approvals are assigned to applications that they control and monitor.
