Function documentationAction

This is an optional step when creating roadmap forms. You use this function to assign a personnel action and an action reason to a roadmap process.

Prerequisites

To assign personnel actions, you must define them in Customizing for Personnel & Organization under Start of the navigation path Basic Settings Next navigation step Personnel Actions End of the navigation path (or in Customizing for Personnel Administration under Start of the navigation path Customizing Procedures Next navigation step Actions Next navigation step Set Up Personnel Actions End of the navigation path).

Features

With the assignment of a roadmap form to a personnel action, you specify that the following characteristics of the personnel action type are valid for the assigned roadmap process:

Field

Entry

Function Character

With the function character, you define if the action is an Initial Hiring or an Other Actions personnel action type:

  • For an Initial Hiring process, the system automatically creates a personnel number, and a record of the infotypes Actions (0000) and Payroll Status (0003)

  • For an Other Actions process, the system automatically creates a record of the Actions infotype (0000).

If you do not specify an action for a roadmap form, only the infotypes defined in the Roadmap node are processed or created.

Status indicators (Customer-Specific, Employment, Special Payment)

The Employment status indicator of a personnel action defines if an employee automatically gets a specific employee status with the relevant process, for example.

Date Control

This field specifies whether the effective date entered on the initial screen General Process Data when processing a roadmap process is the start date for new infotype records or the end date for old infotype records. This is especially important in the case of leaving actions.

Check Feature

This field defines whether the properties of this action match the properties of a previous action. The feature you enter in this field defines the check to be executed. For example, a withdrawal must precede a reentry; only active employees may be sent into early retirement.

Display Position, Personnel Area, Employee Group, Employee Subgroup

These fields allow changes to organizational assignment data during the processing of a roadmap process. When one of these indicators is set, the relevant field in theGeneral Process Data screen is ready for entry.

For personnel actions, you can also specify an action reason, mainly used for reporting. You define action reasons in Customizing for Personnel & Organization under Start of the navigation path Basic Settings Next navigation step Personnel Actions Next navigation step Create Reasons for Personnel Actions End of the navigation path.

In the Action node of the Design Time tool, you can specify an action reason for the roadmap form and how the Action Reason field is displayed at runtime by the following values in the Attribute for Action Reason field:

Attribute

Meaning

Editable

The Action Reason field is displayed and editable in the General Process Data entry screen of the roadmap process.
