Prerequisites

Prerequisites for Warranty Claim Attachments

In Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Start of the navigation path Warranty Claim Processing Next navigation step Dealer Portal: Warranty Claim Processing Next navigation step Define Warranty Claim Status for Dealer Portal End of the navigation path, you have defined for each warranty claim status whether or not the warranty claim attachments can be changed in that status.

Prerequisites for Labor Values and Damage Codes from External Catalogs

To be able to call external catalogs for labor values and damage codes, you have set up the connection to these catalogs in Customizing for LaunchPads (transaction LPD_CUST). For the DPWTY role and the DPWTY instance, you must enter your own, customer-specific URLs specifying where your catalogs are located. To do so, replace the dummy URL http://url-to-your-catalog.com with your own, customer-specific URLs.

In Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Start of the navigation path Warranty Claim Processing Next navigation step Dealer Portal: Warranty Claim Processing Next navigation step Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) End of the navigation path you have tailored the following methods of BAdI: Enhancement of Web Dynpro Component DPWTY_CLAIM_DETAIL to meet your requirements:

  • PREPARE_CATALOG

The system calls this method before it starts the external catalog. This method prepares the data that is transferred from the Web Dynpro application to the external catalog.

  • RETRIEVE_CATALOG

The system calls this method after returning from the external catalog to the Web Dynpro application. This method evaluates the data that is transferred from the external catalog to the Web Dynpro application.

Features

Attachments for Warranty Claims

When creating new warranty claims for vehicles or parts, you can add one or more files in various formats as attachments, without having to save the warranty claim first. You can also change the attachments for a warranty claim even if the warranty claim itself can no longer be changed.

Labor Values and Damage Codes from External Catalogs

You can include labor values and damage codes from external catalogs by means of the open catalog interface (OCI). When you create warranty claims for vehicles or parts in the dealer portal, you can select labor values and damage codes from the external catalogs. You can also still select labor values and damage codes from the input help or enter them manually. If you have linked a catalog for damage codes, the input help is deactivated for this field.
