Transfer of Subcontracted Parts to Workshop

Process Flow

Normal repair process
  1. To finalize the refurbishment process, the subcontracted part must be transferred to the workshop where additional work might be necessary.

  2. Two-step stock transfer for refurbishment orders is recommended for the refurbishment process because rotable components are not consumed, but transferred from one location to another.

    1. Movement type 313: Posting of a stock transfer from a storage location. The system removes the relevant quantity from unrestricted-use stock and temporarily stores it in blocked stock.

    2. Movement type 315: On completion of the refurbishment, posting of a stock transfer of the relevant quantity, from blocked stock to unrestricted-use stock.

      101/261 movements are also supported.

  3. Stock transfer is triggered automatically after goods receipt from the subcontractor. You can also carry out the transfer manually when the workshop continues the refurbishment. In case of batch/valuation type changes (for example, unserviceable to serviceable), the receiving batch/valuation type must be specified already during transfer posting to workshop.

Planned Modification

If a part is modified during the subcontracting process, the automatically created component of the refurbishment order must be changed or replaced with the new material. The subcontracted part is transferred to the workshop using a two-step transfer posting (movement types 313/315) or a consumption-based movement (101/261) where the refurbishment process is finalized. Because of batch/valuation type changes (for example, unserviceable to serviceable), the receiving batch/valuation type must be specified already during transfer posting to workshop. For more information, see Planned Modification .

Unplanned Modification

Same as for planned modification of the part during the subcontracting process, the automatically created component of the refurbishment order must be changed or replaced with the new material.

The modified part returned from the subcontractor to stock is transferred to the workshop using a two-step transfer posting (movement types 313/315) or consumption-based movement (101/261) where the refurbishment process will be finalized. For more information, see Unplanned Modification .

Replacement

Same as for planned/unplanned modification of the part, the automatically created component of the refurbishment order must be changed or replaced with the material number of the replacement. As soon as serialized parts are involved in the refurbishment process, the serial number will be different as well. The replaced part received from subcontractor into stock is transferred to the workshop using a two-step transfer posting (movement types 313/315) where the refurbishment process will be finalized.
