Use the fields and options in the Data Capture-Bank
tab to define and modify information required during a bank card transaction, to set reference number parameters and black list parameters.
Tender reference numbers can be verified against a positive or negative file defined in the Positive
and Negative File Maintenance
windows. Positive and negative files can have up to nine file identification types.
Example
For example with the following two entries:
ID 1 — valid/invalid gift certificate numbers
ID 2 — valid/invalid merchandise credit numbers
During tendering, the system only accepts tenders with reference numbers that match a number in the positive file and only rejects tenders with reference numbers that match a number in the negative file. For information about positive files, see Positive File. For information about negative files, see Negative File.
The black list is a list of account numbers against which a customer account card presented as tender is checked to determine the type of authorization required for that card. Electronic Funds Terminals (EFT) supports this process and can support both debit and credit cards. The presence of the card number in either a black file, a white file, or in neither file determines the type of authorization required. Depending on the configuration, this may indicate that the transaction can be settled with no authorization required.
