The Data Capture - Bank tab allows you to define bank card settings for non-merchandise items such as stored value cards and vouchers.

Description

Send Activation at Time of Sale

Specifies that the card can be activated at the POS terminal at the time of the purchase. When this option is not enabled, the activation can only be performed manually using the voucher activation function.

Bank Card

Specifies each bank card that can be tendered for a non-merchandise transaction.

Credit Service

Defines which credit service should be contacted for authorization for the specified bank card.

Voucher Agent

Defines a voucher agent to contact for authorization for the specified bank card. Agent Id 1, Value Link is reserved for Value Link store value card processing only because of special parsing of the magnetic stripe data. If this is used for other processors you may experience unexpected results in the TLOG and on the receipt.

Min Online Auth Amount

Specifies the minimum amount required for online authorization

Local Authorization Floor Limit

Specifies the maximum amount that can be processed through a bank card before external authorization is required. The options include the IVR Value Link that is used for offline gift card validation processing when ValueLink is the gift card provider.

Manual Auth Verification

Specifies a verification method that validates the manual authorization code returned by the authorization service provider

Treat Declines as Referrals

Places a declined authorization request into the Store and Forward file

Decline Override Requires Mgr Override

Specifies that declined authorization requests require a manager’s override

Account Number Mask

Masks the reference number when displayed or printed.

Manual Auth Display Policy

Displays a policy for a manual authorization.

Backup Credit Service

Specifies that the backup service is to be used when the credit service is not available.

Check Class Code

Activates class code differentiation for a non-merchandise gift card definition. Set its associated value to ‘0’. This allows you to differentiate tender items such gift cards from similar tender items such as merchandise credit vouchers to ensure that the correct tender item is issued to the customer, indicated on the receipt and written to the Tlog file. When this setting is enabled, the POS validates the class code of the tender card against the class code of the tender definition.

A gift card also requires a corresponding definition in the tender maintenance. For more information, see Tender.

Check Class Code Value

Activates tender item differentiation. You set this indicator along with the Check Class Code indicator. The value “0” differentiates a gift card from another tender item.

Approval Print Policy

Allows you to specify the printing of a policy on the non-merchandise receipt upon approval of the authorization request. This is important in configurations for third-party gift cards such as Blackhawk.

To use this option, you must also select the Print Non-Merchandise Receipt option on the Non-Merchandise: Print Options tab.

Decline Override Authorization Level

Sets an authorization level to override a declined authorization request

Sets an authorization level to allow manual card entry

Manual Authorization Level

Sets an authorization level for manual authorizations

SAF Mode

Specifies that when authorization cannot be obtained due to system communication problems the transaction details are sent to the Store and Forward file. The following options are available:

  • 0=None

  • 1=Authorization and Reversal

  • 2=Authorization only

Enable MSR

Activates the magnetic stripe reader

Print Current Balance

Specifies that the current balance of the card should be printed on the receipt

Print Initial and Applied Balance

When you select this checkbox, three balances are printed on a gift card receipt when a store value card/gift card is used as tender for a sale, post void, return, and balance inquiry transaction. The balances that print on the receipt are as follows:

  • Initial Balance: the balance before the store value card is presented

  • Applied Balance: the transaction amount

  • Final Balance: the balance after the store value card is used for the transaction.

This feature is also used for merchandise transactions. For more information about this parameter setting for merchandise items, see Tender Setup: Data Capture-Bank.

Authorize Post Void

Specifies that post void authorization can be allowed for non-merchandise items

Disallow Local Authorization

Specifies that authorization should always be required from the credit provider

Prompt Valid From

Activates a prompt to retrieve the starting date of the bank card’s valid period

Prompt Expiry

Activates a prompt to retrieve the bank card’s expiry date

Include in Settlement

Includes authorization records for this non-merchandise item in the authorization consolidation process.

Print Expiry Date On Receipt

Prints the expiry date on the receipt.

Scan Card

Allows you to scan the bar code of a card (for example, a gift card).

Scan Card Auth Level

Specifies the authority level allowed for scanning a card.

Treat Reactivation as Reload

Provides functionality to treat an already active authorization response from the credit provider as a gift card reload activity at the POS. If this option is not enabled, an already active response message is treated as an error.

Card Identifier

Presents a list of card identifiers for each type of gift card. The selected identifier is included in the authorization request to the authorization service provider.

EFT Product Code

Code for prepaid phone e-vouchers that identifies the phone service a customer is purchasing.
