Remote Monitoring Scenarios for Microsoft SQL ServerLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The DBA Cockpit offers a wide spectrum of remote monitoring functions for Microsoft SQL Server.

In past years, we offered a choice between the options Database Multiconnect, Remote Enabled Functions (RFC) or Database Multiconnect combined with RFC. Because RFC connections have much more restrictive requirements and are less flexible, we no longer support DBA Cockpit connections to a remote SQL Server system using the DBA Cockpit RFC method.

Database Multiconnect is the remote monitor connection used by both DBA Cockpit and the SAP Solution Manager Database Performance Warehouse.

For more information, seeDatabase Multiconnect.

Note

Do not use the standard table maintenance SM 30 or SM31 to create destinations for remote SQL Server database monitoring.
