Database MulticonnectLocate this document in the navigation structure

In this scenario, the source SAP system accesses a remote SQL Server database via multiconnect.

The following features apply:

  • PRD can be an SAP ABAP or Java system using SQL Server, or any other SQL Server database
  • SOL may use any database platform, but SERVER1 must run on Windows or Linux platform x86_64. If you use Linux, apply SAP Note 1644499 Information published on SAP site to configure the server.
  • Some monitor functions are not available
Note

When establishing the Database Multiconnect monitor from SOL to PRD above, new database objects are created in PRD. If PRD is an SAP ABAP or Java based system you cannot specify the existing ABAP (<SID> or Java schema name (SAP<SID>DB) as the monitor schema name. You must specify a new schema name that will be created in the PRD database.

At the initial connection of the Database Multiconnect from SOL to PRD, the setup process creates this new schema in database PRD and places its monitor objects in it.
