Creating and Modifying Personalized SignaturesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You have several options to create and modify the personalized signature of a user. The personalized signatures are created and modified in a simple HTML editor, allowing the user to format the signatures (for example, bold, italic, bullets, and so on). Each user has only one personalized signature in HTML format and in plain text format. The difference between these formats is that the first one is HTML formatted and the second one is parsed from the HTML format. This is to conform to some e-mail clients that support only plain text messages. The users with administrator privileges in the UME have the permissions to access and modify the content of the personalized signatures of all users within SAP NetWeaver. The administrators can search for specific users, access, and manage the personalized signature of the specific users.

Note

The personalized signatures of the service users can only be maintained by the user administrators.

Prerequisites

To create and modify the content of the personalized signatures administrators must be assigned a role with the UME action for e-mail signature: Signature_Administration . For more information, see Enabling E-Mail Signatures .

Procedure

Administrators have several options of managing the personalized signatures, depending on their assigned permissions:

  1. Start identity management. For more information, see Identity Management .

  2. Search for a specified user.

  3. In the search results list, select the user.

  4. Choose Modify .

  5. Choose Email Signature tab.

Note

If your installation includes a SAP NetWeaver Portal, you can create, modify or view your own personalized signature, when you logon to the portal. For more information, see the portal documentation.
