GTIN Processes with Specific Customer Data

Purpose

The EAN.UCC/GS1 Compliance component covers three elementary business processes:

Ordering
Delivery
Invoicing

In the mySAP ERP system, these processes are divided into internal and external processes. This is because the data that is sent varies from case to case. External processes are processes that involve conventional customers, who are external to the company.

In external Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) processes (having specific customer data), the GTIN and the process-specific data for the GTIN mapping are the valid criteria.

Process Flow

Using the EAN supports the following processes:

Customer inquiry – outgoing
Customer inquiry – incoming
Customer quotation – outgoing
Customer quotation – incoming (only manually)
Purchase order
Sales order
Order confirmation
Shipping notification – outgoing
Shipping notification – incoming
Invoice

The process data can be entered manually or sent by means of an EDI message.

For these processes, the EAN.UCC/GS1 Compliance component provides the standard functions and an extended help function ( F4 ) that you can use to enter the GTIN.
