You use this activity to place a hold on a component and associated inventory ID records because of problems the component is causing as the product is being produced on the shop floor. Once the issue is resolved with the component, the component and associated records can be released to finish the production process.
You have created material records in Material Maintenance
(see Material Maintenance).

To place a component on hold, do the following:
On the Component Hold/Release
screen, enter the material and version of the component you need to place on hold.
Choose Create Hold
.
Enter data as required.
Hold the component and view all holds in the site for the component and version entered in the Component
and Version
fields. If the Version
field is blank, the system displays all versions of the component that are on hold. If both fields are blank, it displays all components that are on hold in the site.
