Every condition has at least one validity period that starts with a valid-from date (required field) and can end with a valid-to date (optional). You can define and change the validity period in the
Condition Details
area of condition processing. For information on the screen layout and the screen areas in condition editing, see
Editing Conditions
under
Scope of Functions
.
To create a new validity period for a condition, double-click on the condition to be edited and choose the
Create Period
pushbutton in the
Condition Details
screen area. Define a valid-from date.
The following time-independent fields are predefined:
Condition description
Differentiation
Currency
Replacement category
This form of processing is most useful if you want to change many of the specifications for a validity period.
To copy a validity period for a condition, double-click on the condition to be edited and choose the
Copy Period
pushbutton in the
Condition Details
screen area.
In addition to the time-independent fields named above, there are also time-dependent fields such as the interest calculation method or percentage rate.
This form of processing is most useful if you want to make changes quickly without having to make all entries again. Define a valid-from date.
Changing a Validity Period
You can create or change any validity period whose validity is after the used until date.
A condition is only classified as
used
if it has a
used until
date, which means that it has at least one used validity period. For example, the
used
until date in Account
Management
is the date of the last settlement for which the conditions were used. This date is always zero in
Bank Analyzer
as it does not use a
used until
date.
You can only change the valid-from date if the condition does not have a used validity period. This means that all validity periods for the condition have a valid-from date that is on or after the
used
until
date.
You cannot change the dates of validity periods that have been used already. An exception is made for the valid-to date (and the reason for the time limit) If the valid-to date of a validity period is empty or is after the
used until
date, then you can define or change the entry. The (new) value must be after the
used until
date because the validity period was used already up to this date.
Note
If you change the validity period on one of the tab pages in the
Condition Details
screen area of condition processing, then the change is visible and can be changed on the other tab pages of condition editing.
Restricting a Validity Period
You can create time-dependent conditions in the system and restrict their validity using the following options:
If you enter a valid-to date, then the condition is valid until this date (inclusive)
If you create a new validity period for an existing condition, then the pervious validity period ends automatically at the valid-from date of the new period.
