Creating a Launchpad

Procedure

To create a launchpad, complete the following steps:

  1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, enter the transaction LPD_CUST in the command field.

  2. On the Overview of Launchpads screen, choose New Launchpad.

  3. In the dialog box, enter the following information for the new launchpad and choose Continue:

    • Role

    • Instance

    • Description

    • Namespace (optional)

    • Launchpad Type

      The following launchpad types are available:

      • <Blank> for a Stand-Alone type launchpad

      • FPM_UIBB for a launchpad that is displayed in a Floorplan Manager Launchpad component

      • Embedded for a launchpad that is embedded in another Web Dynpro component

      • BADI_FOL for a launchpad requiring a BAdI implementation

  4. You are now ready to add target applications to the launchpad you created. On the Change Launchpad Role: screen, choose New Application.

  5. Complete the following mandatory parameters for the new application:

    • Link Text

    • Description

    • Application Type

    • Application Parameter

    • System Alias (not applicable for all application types)

  6. (Optional) Complete the necessary advanced (optional) parameters applicable to the chosen application category.

  7. Save your changes.

  8. (Optional) Repeat the steps above to add multiple target applications to the launchpad.
