You can also call and fill the dose calculator in order templates without entering patient-related data.

Prerequisites

You create an order template for a drug for which the dose calculator can be used.

Procedure

  1. Choose Dose Calculation (Dose Calculation)in the compressed order view to calculate the dose for the order or, for infusions, the corresponding flow rate on the Flow Rate tab page, choose Dose Calculation (Dose Calculation) to calculate the flow rate.

    The system displays the Dose Calculation screen.

  2. You can enter all fields except the patient-related data such as the weight and height.

    Note Note

    Note that if you execute dose and flow rate calculation according to the patient’s weight or body surface area, you cannot calculate doses in the order template.

If the template is transferred into an order, you can supplement the patient-related data so that the dose can be calculated according to the rules.

When you transfer an order template with a previously filled in dose calculator into an order, the system flags this with the icon in the Dose Calculator column.
