Function documentationClinical Orders View Type

The Clinical Orders view type is available in the Clinical Work Station to provide an overview of clinical orders and requests. The Views of this view type replace the request overview and display clinical orders and requests.

Note Note

The existing request lists will remain in the system, but new developments within the request management function will only be intended for the Clinical Orders view type in the Clinical Work Station.

End of the note.

Using a hierarchical display, one view of this view type displays the patient data, order header, order items, and services for a clinical order.

Caution Caution

The system administrator can use system parameter N1CORDER to control whether only clinical orders, only requests, or both are used in the hospital in parallel.

This affects whether only the Clinical Orders tab page, only the Requests tab page, or both tab pages are available for the selection in the selection screen.

End of the caution.

You can use user parameter N1WP_004_EXP to control which nodes should be displayed as opened in views of this view type.

Features

Selection Screen

As the system administrator you can configure selection variants, which can be used to provide the user with the following selection fields in the General Data and Time Period group boxes for the selection screen:

  • Institution

  • Maximum Number of Hits

  • Manual Selection Entry

    • Goal

The system administrator wishes to define a view that users can use for making their own selections.

    • Method:

If the user selects the pushbutton of a view, the system should not immediately construct the list of clinical orders, but should first display the selection screen where the user can enter the data for the selection of requests or clinical orders to which the view should refer.

    • Prerequisite

When configuring a view, the system administrator creates a selection variant in which the Man. Entry Sel. indicator is set.

    • System Behavior

When the user calls the view, the selection screen will first appear. The selection data from the selection variant is displayed by default. The user can change the selection data, for example, select a different initiator for the display of clinical orders. After changing the selection criteria you return to the view. The selections you have just made apply. These selections remain active throughout the session (in other words as long as you remain in the transaction). If you switch to a different view in the meantime, the settings remain in force.

      • Using Basic Settings (Basic Settings) you can reset the temporary changes for a view.

      • The next time you start the clinical work station, the default selections made by the system administrator for the view apply anew.

Even if the system administrator did not set the Man. Entry Sel. indicator for a view when creating the selection variant, the user can set it him- or herself when executing the Change Selection function.

If the user has set this indicator for a view, the system always displays the selection screen before calling the view. The selection data from the selection variant is displayed by default in this dialog box. The use can modify the selection data. These selections remain active throughout the session (in other words as long as you remain in the transaction). If you switch to a different view in the meantime, the settings remain in force.

However, if you choose Defaults (Defaults) or call the Clinical Work Station again, the default view selections made by the system administrator are reapplied and the Man. Entry Sel. indicator is deselected.

  • Ignore Patient

Unlike the other view types of the Clinical Work Station, the selection screen contains a checkbox: Ignore Patient. If you activate this checkbox for a Selection Variant (or for a temporarily changed selection), then the patients, who were dragged to the Clinical Orders view using Drag&Relate, will be ignored.

  • Ignore Cases

Unlike the other view types of the Clinical Work Station, the selection screen contains a checkbox: Ignore Cases. If you activate this checkbox for a Selection Variant (or for a temporarily changed selection), then the cases, which were dragged to the Clinical Orders view using Drag&Relate, will be ignored.

  • Date From - To

  • Time From - To

  • Service Date

  • Desired Date

  • Created On

  • Planned For

In addition to the general selection criteria you can make selections especially for requests on the Request tab page, such as, for example:

  • Individual selection according to request type or request number

  • Selection according to specific service status

  • Further characteristics, for example, only surgery requests

You can enter one or more OUs for the performing OU, requesting nursing OU, and requesting departmental OU. You can also decide that the OU of the work environment should be selected (checkbox). On the Clinical Order tab page you can predefine the selection criteria for clinical orders, for example:

  • Addressed To (OU or business partner)

You can select the displayed clinical orders according to the OU or the person that is to fill the order. This enables an employee (business partner) to display only the clinical orders that are addressed to him or her personally in the view and thus to create his or her personal clinical order worklist.

  • Initiated By

  • Order Number (for individual selection)

  • Item Status (for the selection according to one or more specific statuses)

The system displays the item status grouped according to the status profile. The Status column is not filled for status profiles. You can select one or more status profiles or an individual item status. If you select a status profile all item statuses for this profile are selected.

  • Order Type

  • Orders with Surgery Items

You can also make multiple entries for Order Filler, Initiator, and Initiating Department. You can also decide for each field, that the OU of the work environment should be selected (checkbox).

When the view is called, the system selects all requests or clinical orders of the patients of the institution which corresponds to the selection criteria.

Caution Caution

In cases of very large data quantities, this may cause slight waiting times when the view is called!

End of the caution.
