Object documentationAppointment Series

An Appointment Series is a sequence of several corresponding appointments for the same patients.

Example Example

Physiotherapy with several treatment units, appointment sequences for preliminary and follow-up examinations in connection with surgeries, etc..

End of the example.

Appointment series in the clinical system (i.s.h.med) correspond to multiappointments in SAP Patient Management (IS-H).

The primary goal of appointment series is to offer outpatient clinical operational optimization for similar or appointments which belong together.

You can plan appointment series while taking into consideration chronological dependencies (minimum interval and maximum interval between treatment units).

See Creating Appointment Series.

Structure

An appointment series consists of several individual appointments which are known as Repeat Appointments.

Repeat appointments are appointments which:

  • only differ in the date, time, and resource (e.g. treatment room), e.g. physiotherapy with several treatment units

  • only have the reference to the patient in common with the other appointments, e.g. appointment sequence for preliminary examinations, EKG, x-rays, surgery, and follow-up care.

Integration

The system saves appointments which the user creates using joint planning in the clinical order, as an appointment series.
