On the General tab page you enter and manage the general information and settings and prices of a drug.

If you enter prices, you can use them, for example, in the drug search or in the alternative dialog for price comparisons or for determining the most economical drug.

Activities

You can enter and edit the brand name and the manufacturer of a drug.

In addition, the following group boxes are provided:

  • Notes group box

    In this group box you can enter general notes or notes especially for occupational groups which, for example, concern the medication order or the documentation of medication events. The long text entry function is provided for this purpose.

  • Properties group box

    In this group box you can determine properties of the drug (e.g. the dosage form, administration route, etc.).

    You can also indicate whether the drug is, for example, psychotropic, or the patient’s own medication.

    Note Note

    The Pat. Own Medicat. indicator is only ready for input if the drug can be used for administration (see Drug Header Data) and has not yet been activated.

    The specified properties affect the further processing of the drug in the medication order and when processing medication events (e.g. documenting the administration).

  • Prices entry table

    You can also enter information concerning the price of the drug.

    An entry table is available for prices, in which you can manage different price types.

    Caution Caution

    In order to be able to enter prices, you must have entered the reference dose or package size of the drug on the Presentation tab page.

    Note that you cannot change entered price types and their prices. However, you can restrict the price types to a specific period of validity and delete and create a new price type at any time.

    Note Note

    The validity periods of prices of the same price type may not overlap. The system will adjust the validity periods of two entries of the same price type so that the end of validity of the existing entry is automatically changed to the start of validity of the new entry. If the periods of validity of the entries match (overlap) you can decide whether the new entry should overwrite the old entry.

    Furthermore you can determine whether deleted entries should be displayed in the price table.

    When you import drugs, you can let the system automatically overwrite the entries in the price table (without a dialog).
